2024 FAWK Comedy Lab

Have your friends and family ever commented on how hilarious you are? Ever thought “I want to do that!” while watching endless stand-up specials on Netflix?

FAWK's 2024 Comedy Lab is a lab for APIDA female-identifying comedic storytellers to create new comedic material for the stage, screen, and page. There will be a showcase at the end of the lab for participants to perform their new material.

Selected Participants will receive a small modest stipend so they can dedicate time to create and perform.

The Lab requires all participants to be present for 3 workshops where they will learn from an experienced and working comedian. During these workshops there will be opportunities to workshop and test new material.

If selected, participants will be asked to attend the first workshop with a rough draft/outline on a prospective set/story/sketch they want to work on.

The dates for the workshops are:

  • WORKSHOP #1: Feb 28, 2024 at 6-8 PM CT

  • WORKSHOP #2: March 27, 2024 at 6-8 PM CT

  • WORKSHOP #3: April 17, 2024 at 6-8 PM CT

The workshops dates will be online.

The prospective date of the showcase will either be April 26 or 27, 2024 from 7-9 pm CT. We ask participants to hold both dates. The showcase will be in-person.
